This breed is energetic, independent, outgoing, and affectionate. They tend to need a great deal of companionship, since they were bred as pack dogs. Left unattended, these active dogs may start chewing, and destroying items in your house. Barking can also be a result of neglect. Being scent hounds, these dogs have the tendency to follow their noses and ignore anything and everything. Obedience training at an early age is a must to prevent the dog from getting lost. Even a well-trained dog of this breed should not be left off the leash in public areas.

Beagle Fact -

This is a small scenting hound, bred specially to track the rabbit and hare. The size of the hound allows the hunter to follow the dog on foot. These dogs come in two varieties: 13-inch and 15-inch. The most common colors are black and tan or white, black and tan, but all other hound colors are accepted. The coat is short and sleek. The hair should lie close to the body of the dog and should be hard, never soft or silky. This breed is an average shedder and doesn’t need any special grooming.
